How to check a vehicle’s roadworthiness test online
You can check roadworthiness tests recorded since 1 June 2018 on the Portale dell’Automobilista website by entering the vehicle type and registration number.
To check recorded roadworthiness tests online, open the official service on the Portale dell’Automobilista and enter the vehicle type and registration number. The system shows tests carried out since 1 June 2018. For earlier years or conflicting information, contact the UMC (Civil Motorisation Office).
Use the official service
Go to the “Verifica revisioni effettuate” page on the Portale dell’Automobilista. Select the vehicle type, enter the registration number and complete the security check requested on the page. The public service covers roadworthiness tests recorded after 1 June 2018.
Enter the registration number accurately and select the correct vehicle category. If the CAPTCHA is hard to read, refresh the image and try again; do not enter login or payment details on pages that do not belong to the Portal. Before sharing a result online, obscure the registration number in the screenshot.
Read the date and result in context
Compare the date and result with the vehicle registration document or Documento Unico and the receipts issued by the test centre. For a used vehicle, this check helps establish part of its history, but it does not show maintenance work or certify that the vehicle has no current defects.
The absence of a record does not automatically mean that the test was not carried out: the service covers a limited period, and an incorrect registration number or category may prevent a match. If a test should appear but does not, contact the test centre and ask it to check the entry.
If the information is old or does not match
For tests earlier than the date covered by the Portal, check the original documents or contact the Civil Motorisation Office. If the seller’s information and the database show different dates, keep the evidence and ask the test centre or UMC to correct or clarify the record.
To find out when the next test is due, do not rely on a single record without checking the vehicle category and first registration date. Article 80 sets different intervals depending on the vehicle and its use. Treat the service as a document check, then compare the result with the law and your own documents.
Quiz Patente Ufficiale helps you study the rules with topic-based lessons, exam quizzes and mistake review; it does not access roadworthiness test records.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Portal show roadworthiness tests carried out before 2018?
The service page says that the search covers tests carried out after 1 June 2018. For earlier history, contact the UMC or check the vehicle documents.
Can I check someone else’s car?
The service asks for the vehicle type and registration number. Use the information for a legitimate check and do not share the registration number or results that could identify someone unless necessary.
