After the theory exam: preparing for the Italian category B road test

After passing the theory exam for an Italian category B licence, prepare for the practical test through the required driving exercises and supervised lessons. Use quizzes to refresh rules and signs, while an instructor teaches vehicle control and manoeuvres; the two forms of preparation serve different purposes.

Complete the practical preparation

The Ministry's category B process includes a practical test and requires evidence of the prescribed driving exercises before the test. Confirm the current procedure, documents and scheduling with your driving school or Motorizzazione, because the application route and individual situation can affect the steps.

Use lessons to practise vehicle checks, moving off, observation, turns, intersections, parking and driving in traffic. Your instructor can choose routes and exercises suited to your experience and correct specific habits. For example, knowing a priority rule from a quiz is useful, but you still need to recognise the sign and respond safely while approaching a real junction.

Keep theory revision useful

Continue reviewing signs, priority, speed and the rules that come up in lessons. Quiz Patente Ufficiale offers chapter study, exam-style quizzes, error review and statistics that can help organise theory revision. Treat a wrong answer as a cue to revisit the rule, not as proof that the app has assessed your driving skill.

Do not replace lessons with video instructions or practise risky manoeuvres alone. The practical exam assesses driving in context and requires the official training steps described by the Ministry. Ask your instructor which situations need more practice and check administrative requirements before booking.
