Quiz patente: come leggere le domande con una negazione
Spot the negation, identify the rule it concerns and assess the full statement before choosing true or false.
When a question contains “not”, read carefully what the sentence denies and compare the whole statement with the syllabus rule. The negation alone does not tell you whether the answer is true or false: the subject, condition and consequence all matter.
Break down the statement
A negation can change the meaning of a short proposition. Before answering, identify the subject, the action and the circumstances described. Then restate the sentence simply while preserving its conditions: ask what conduct is prohibited, who is affected and in what situation. This step can reduce the chance of selecting an answer based on one word alone.
Words such as “always”, “never” and “only” also deserve attention, but they do not automatically make a sentence false. A rule may establish a real general duty, or a condition may introduce an exception. If a question concerns priority, for example, check the intersection and signs shown; do not decide from an absolute word without checking the relevant legal principle.
Connect reading to the rule
Once you have identified the negation, formulate the positive rule in your mind and check whether the question denies it correctly or contradicts it. If you cannot explain your choice, return to the relevant topic in the Ministry syllabus and look for the applicable definition or requirement. Do not correct a statement by intuition alone: an unusual sentence can still be accurate in its stated context.
During study, note the wording that misled you and the concrete reason: a missed negation, a forgotten condition or confusion between a rule and an exception. Then practise different questions so you do not learn only one sentence. Quiz Patente Ufficiale can help you practise theory quizzes and review mistakes; check each decision against the rule rather than a language trick.

Frequently asked questions
Is a sentence with “always” false?
Not necessarily. An absolute word is a reason to check the rule and its conditions, not an automatic answer.
What is the first step when a question contains a negation?
Identify what is being denied and restate the sentence while keeping its subject and conditions. Then compare it with the relevant road rule.
