Quiz patente sulle luci: anabbaglianti, abbaglianti e fendinebbia

Review when lights are required and when high beams may be used without confusing visibility, purpose and conditions.

Articles 152 and 153 govern lighting devices in different conditions. Distinguish the duty to make a vehicle visible from the use of high beams: high beams must not dazzle other road users and must be used under the conditions set by law.

Dipped beams and visibility duties

Article 152 requires the use of lighting devices in certain situations, including motor vehicle travel outside built-up areas, subject to the Code’s detailed conditions. Article 153 covers the use of main-beam headlights and lights at night, in tunnels or when visibility is poor. In a quiz, identify the situation described before choosing a device.

Dipped beams illuminate the road without the longer beam of main-beam headlights. Daytime running lights can replace position lamps and dipped beams only in the circumstances allowed by Article 153; do not assume they are enough at all times. For example, in a tunnel or when visibility is reduced, check the specific rule instead of relying on daytime running lights alone.

Main beams and fog lamps

Main-beam headlights must not dazzle other drivers. Dip them when meeting a vehicle or when they could disturb the driver ahead, and use them only when conditions allow you to illuminate farther without creating danger or discomfort. A quiz asking whether they should always stay on at night cannot be answered from personal preference: check the conditions and the duty not to dazzle.

Front and rear fog lamps have specific functions and conditions of use; they are not automatic substitutes for ordinary lighting. Read whether the question describes fog or another reduction in visibility, which device is involved and where the vehicle is. Quiz Patente Ufficiale can help you review lighting questions and mistakes; check Articles 152 and 153 for the complete rule, including specific conditions.
